Financial Scheme for His Fiancée
Fain abused his presidential powers to push for a financial bonus for non-UAW employees at the Stellantis National Training Center — a bonus that would have directly benefited his fiancée, who worked there. ( UAW Chrysler National Training Center 2500 E 9 Mile Rd, Warren, MI)
Abusing Authority for a Family Member
Fain improperly used his presidential power to intervene in a workplace injury case involving his fiancée's sister at a Stellantis plant — pressuring both senior Stellantis management and top UAW officials.
Retaliation Against VP Rich Boyer
When Vice President Rich Boyer refused to go along with the financial bonus scheme, declined to intervene in the injury case, and objected to Fain's requests — Fain stripped Boyer of his oversight of the UAW Stellantis Department. Fain filed seven allegations of dereliction of duty against Boyer. The Federal Monitor investigated and found NONE of the seven reasons were justified. The Monitor concluded Fain knew some of his claims were false or exaggerated when he made them.
Retaliation Against Secretary-Treasurer Margaret Mock
Fain and his inner circle stripped Secretary-Treasurer Margaret Mock of her oversight responsibilities and field assignments after she refused to authorize certain expenditures requested by Fain's office.
Culture of Fear and Intimidation
The Monitor documented a pattern of Fain threatening and belittling UAW staff — creating a documented "culture of fear" inside the union. Witnesses reported public tirades and an alleged threat of violence against anyone who crossed Fain's inner circle.
Obstructing the Federal Investigation
The Monitor accused Fain and the UAW of obstructing the federal investigation by withholding information and failing to produce over 100,000 requested internal documents in a timely manner.
